Endsville: News

Endsville is endsville - June 26, 2009

That's all folks!
ciao
adios
bye
so long
farewell

Last night, June 26th, Endsville played our last show as a band. It's been a little shy of 5 years, with lots of ups and downs, one record under our belt and lots and lots of great memories.

Since our first show as a three piece at the horseshoe up until our farewell show last night at the Center of Gravity our favourite times, the most exciting and energy filled times were on stage, playing for our fans. So we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us over the years (especially our wives...)

As one door closes, another opens.

Endsville rising in the charts on TheSixtyOne.com - August 15, 2008

One of the most innovative web 2.0 music websites is generating a lot of interest in Endsville. "Old Coffee Cup", one of the leadoff tracks from Endsville's new release "sidewalk stories" has been rising up the ranks at www.thesixtyone.com and today was added to their homepage for new songs and the "hot" chart.

TheSixtyOne, named after the infamous highway through the musical heartlands of the southern US, is one of the most innovative new music sites out there. It uses, but doesn't abuse, social networking in a fun "massively multiplayer music discovery".

Endsville "Sidewalk Stories" Hit's the Streets! - June 9, 2008

On Saturday June 7th, Endsville released their first album entitled "Sidewalk Stories", and it literally "hit the streets". Anyone walking in downtown Toronto that day, couldn't help but notice that Endsville had a new album as Yonge Street (from Gerrard down to Queen) and Queen Street (from Yonge to Spadina) were covered with sidewalk chalk notices about the album and depictions of the album's artwork. A few lucky passers by also found free copies left in places frequented by the musically curious, and we look forward to hearing from anyone who found or were given a copy of our new album that day - Please leave us a comment on our guest book, and please pass it on to someone you think should hear the Rock Folk Sweat Soaked Experience that is ENDSVILLE.

Endsville marked the release with a sold out show at the Blue Moon Bar and Lounge on Queen East at Broadview - the night was hot and the music flowed out the windows and became "Sidewalk Stories" live!

"Sidewalk Stories" will be available in the coming weeks on iTunes, and in "sensible record stores" everywhere.

Endsville would like to thank James Pew and the whole team at Euphonic Sound / Broken Window Records for helping make the release a huge success.

"Sidewalk Stories" about to hit the streets - March 12, 2008

So when you make an album - optimism abounds - especially around the release date. I think when we started the project we were shooting for a release in April....2007. Well, we were a little off...how about June 7th? 2008?

Endsville is pleased to announce that their debut release entitled "Sidewalk Stories" will be officially released at the CD release party on Saturday, June 7th.

The venue, and further details will be coming soon.

Endsville adds new Bass Player - January 9, 2008

Endsville would like to officially welcome Colin Edylights to the linup. Colin has been an informal member of the band since the first time Keith and Minas got together to play some tunes and technically was the first person to play bass with the band. Colin made his informal debut at our show on December 23rd, but will be formally inducted into the Endsville Town Hall at our CD release Party
5 String Bass- Colin Edylights

After playing guitar for about 26 years Colin "Axeman" Edylights, picked up a bass and said "I like this, I'll abuse this too!"
The rest is history.....

ENDSVILLE SAYS ‘GOODBYE’ TO BASS PLAYER - September 24, 2007

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of our founding bass player, Stephen Cave, from Endsville. It was a mutual decision that both Endsville and he are to follow different paths in music. We will continue to retain all of our friendships outside of the band; we wish him all the best and to continue with the ‘Frowns not tolerated’ motto. Steve’s final thoughts on Endsville can be heard on the bass tracks in the upcoming Endsville debut record ‘Sidewalk Stories’. In the meantime, Endsville will be on the look out for a new bass player, and we look forward to playing for you in the weeks and months ahead.

Endsville Featured in Podcast - August 20, 2007

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to tell you that Endsville (specifically the song Paranormal Sunrise) was recently featured in an episode of "Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase" a rather funny podcast about being a flight attendant. The specific episode "Airline x-files" is about paranormal activity on airplanes. You can check it out at:

Endsville re-emerges - August 14, 2007

This fall will mark the re-emergence of Endsville. The summer has provided time for us to spend time in the studio, for songwriting, for enjoying late night jams and early morning hangovers. In the fall we will be releasing our album and hitting the streets with our "crazy good" live performances. Canada's next offering to the international music scene is ENDSVILLE.

What's happening? - May 11, 2007

When can we expect Endsville to play again?
When can we expect Endsville to come out of the cave you've been
hiding in?
When can we expect Endsville to put out a CD?

When can we expect Endsville to wear spandex and big hair on stage?
(insert sound effect of a phonograph needle flying across a record
here)

I am happy to report that the answer to all of the
questions....except for the last one is !!!SOON!!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So the news is?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Endsville's newest band member (Keith's brand spanking new daughter)
was born on April 18th, and since Olivia (that's her name) has been
listening to Endsville music since before she was born she said
"daddy, it's time to hit the studio" so.....

Endsville is in the recording studio right now (well...not right
now...since I'm writing this..) and we're working hard to get at
least an EP out to you by June.

As soon as the recording is pressed - it's time to party, and that
means an Endsville show - Date to be announced.

NXNE - Shortlisted and waiting.... - April 11, 2007

So, we are only checking our email once every 5 minutes to find out if we have been accepted to NorthByNorthEast....

Keep your fingers crossed.

Baby coming... - March 8, 2007

I thought I should mention here that Endsville is taking a brief hiatus from gigging because my wife is about to have a baby. We're really excited to meet the new member of our family and since I don't want to run off stage mid song, we're taking a bit of a break. But as you'll notice below - we're recording, and will be back with a bigger bang (and a new little band member) in May/June.

cheers,

Keith

Endsville's hitting the studio - February 23, 2007

We don't know where,
We don't know when,
but you know it's going to be good....

ENDSVILLE hits #25 on Garageband Toronto Charts - June 27, 2006

Endsville has posted our song "Paranormal Sunrise" on Garageband. To see our ranking in Toronto, go here http://www.garageband.com/charts/city/toronto.html

The cool thing about Garageband is that our song is being reviewed by a bunch of other musicians from all over. Our song has risen from about the #800 spot in rock up to the #417 spot today, and we're still climbing....go to www.garageband.com/endsville to keep track of our progress. I think it helps if you listen to the song and give it a 5 star rating...so help us out if you can.

cheers,

Keith

ROCK4AREASON #1 - May 19, 2006

ENDSVILLE would like to send out a huge thank-you to all the fine people that came out last night to our first of many ROCK4AREASON concerts. Last night's concert was in support of Toronto Child Abuse Centre and it was awesome.

NEWSPAPER TAXI was at their finest – and who knew a Duran Duran cover could rock like that!!! 'Shut up & listen' is my favorite.

BLUES UNDERDOG rocked the place and made new fans out of even the most cynical of music critics. Watch out, cause when they say BLUES, you say?

SPECIAL THANKS to JULIE HINTON www.juliehinton.com , the lovely model (and calendar girl). She did a great job holding down the MC role, in a fast and furious ‘what’s next’ night. In addition, we would like to thank Julie and Barry Taylor, from Edge 102, for highlighting the show on air.
Check them out on Monday nights between 7-8pm

Thanks to Sneaky Dee's for allowing us to launch ROCK4ARESAON 1 at their venue!! And really folks, if you've not tried their food - it's awesome -sober and drunk!! BTW, speaking as a ex-bouncer, they have some of the nicest door staff in this city.

Overall ROCK4AREASON #1 raised a lot of money that will go directly to TORONTO CHILD ABUSE CENTRE www.tcac.on.ca , and hopefully we've up the awareness of this amazing organization. That was the goal. That was what we achieved. Thank you!!

PEACE, LOVE, HOPE, RESPECT,

Steve/ENDSVILLE

P.S – For those that chilled out till the last song, how crazy was the jam between Naj from BLUES UNDERDOG, Dan from NEWSPAPER TAXI, and ENDSVILLE?
That song will never be the same – that is what music is all about. That is the high. That is the rush.

More to come on ROCK4AREASON #2 !

Postcards from Endsville - February 25, 2006

Thank you
First of all, Thank-you to everyone that came to our Lee's Palace Show in February. We had a great time, and we really appreciate all your support. Unfortunately, there were no cameras there, so you are left to your imagination as to how amazing it truely was...
The great news is that we are now in discussions with Lee's to do another show there on a weekend and it will probably be in either late April or early May - we'll keep you posted.

Endsville's EMERGENZA 2nd round performance
Sunday, March 12th, at the Reverb - corner of Queen and Bathurst (doors open around 7, we go on at 8 or 8:30 )
Eight bands will be performing for about 1/2 hour each - Entry is $15 at the door / $12 in advance
Endsville will be performing in the second round of the Emergenza Music Festival. For those of you that aren't familiar with it, it's an international battle of the bands, with regional, national and international rounds. Endsville took first place in our first performance, which got us to round 2. If we win this round we go to the Toronto Semi Finals, and we could use your support.
